Harper Layne's Here! UPDATE!!!

πŸ’˜πŸ’˜Well the bad...Have you ever had a taste for something so bad and when you go to get it they are all out? LOL, me and the follow-me eyes didn't agree on several issues...and she has the perfect expression for them. Anyway, that was shelved for now 😏bummer. Still working on perfecting them...all is not lost. There will be others.

but here's the good! I am so pleased with how she turned out in spite of my initial busted bubble! She has to-die-for beautiful "cobalt blue" eyes and dark eyelashes for contrast, pierced ears and is baby scented, blinged-out binky and bracelet. She wears 0-3 months, 20" long and weight's a healthy 4 lbs. 14 ozs.
Her strawberry N Cream complexion is perfect for these absolutely gorgeous eyes and adorable expression! I am still in love! 😍

So much personality, I just had to show her off some more!!! πŸ’‹πŸ’“

Hope that you like the new LOOK!

Hi! I so hope that you had a marvelous and blessed weekend.
I also hope that you like the new look? Just seemed time for a change, so I decided to take the plunge and just DOIT!

I have been rooting that melon head of Camelah Elaine (just keep breaking needles on it, not cool). I do believe that she's going to be simply adorable if I might say so myself. OK, I will. She's going to be simply a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e! LOL Then, I want to get started on the "tiny ones". I just can't wait! I have always said that I am a slow painting artist. I just like to complete the baby / babies that I am working on, giving them my total focus before going to the next unless they are special orders. I always have and I am thinkin...I always will.

I even attended my 45th class reunion, kinda under protest, but glad that I did go to the banquet. It was kinda fun, good seeing some people that I hadn't seen since high school! Why did we have a "roaring twenties" theme? I don't know...I still tried to participate in spite of it and those that didn't. (snickering) I will have to get pictures on here soon!

Got to see "Sister Trip" and I haven't laughed that much in years! It was just good and the cast was ALL STAR in my book any day! Needed a break from all of the mess that's going on. Had to take my little Diva to the vet 2 weeks ago, doing something that she really rarely does...excuse me, but puking. Then she has been literally gnawing on her paws at certain times (one in particular) and that I figured was allergy related especially after it rains and she walks in the grass. She chews her own nails, turns those little suckers into cat claws and I do find that amazing, painful, but amazing. Then I had noticed that she had started losing weight but, in her case it was good because she is my little pudjums! I even asked her if she was putting herself on a diet...did I get an answer, no not really. However, if looks could kill. All joking aside, she was scaring me. I mean I understand that she'll be 10 next April but I am looking to spend with her another 10, God willing. She has been my rock and my little furry guardian angel through it ALL. So off to the vet and 4 meds (all total later poor thing had a yeast infection in her ears and on her paws which included a bacterial infection. She's doing much, much better no more puking, still does some itching after walking in wet grass, but less intense. My GURL is in love with her bland diet of boiled "chic/rice pattays" that I have been feeding her.You would think that she was getting prime rib. Will be transitioning her back to her regular diet and I am seriously thinking of changing that . Her little bro-bro has been giving her moral support, except when he pooped on the floor of the vet hospital (another not cool moment in time).

Well, been up all night guess I do need to go to bed! Have a wonderful day and yak back at ya soon! Next time pictures too!

Well I don't know what to say...

I have been away for awhile, yes I know. In truth l really lost my momentum. I just stopped. I thought if I just took a break...I had hoped to get it together, but I got lost. I knew that I had to try and make my way back, because I truly love reborning! Why I even ordered a few kits (so all is not lost LOL) while on my sabbatical! I finally did something (over the last few months) that I hope gives me a new and fresh perspective. I remodeled (overdue) my nursery work area. I felt closed in and uninspired, a table for this and a table for that got to be too much. Then I would get something new and just toss it on a table, it just didn't seem to matter.  Even with the babies that were finished, I found myself just looking at them! I have felt it coming on for months. That is the bottom line. I hope that the new change brings about a change and I hope that you can forgive me!

This was my work station:

This is my new work station:

Yes, I know a stark contrast for sure! Now individual tables are gone! It's opened up and much more organized. I worked very hard to get it here and I hope that you like it as much as I do. I am resting up (not that long)! Lol  It was a lot of hard work that I did by myself, so I have truly earned it (I'm not that young anymore)!

I also have neglected my website and I am going to take care of that next. Promise! On the lighter side, if you read anything that looks weird. I was experimenting and tried this on my "smartphone". I don't think that was such a great idea, but I made it! :-)

Why MIA again? Really?

I know it's been a few months! Wow how time is flying, but once again a lot was going on, never the less I won't go into boring details! Yes, I got behind on my blog and website...again! LOL However, eventually I had a legit reason...I lost my passwords! :o( One of those "put them in a safe place moments" when we were having all of the really bad weather. The you don't know where you might end up kind? I finally found it! Whaaawhooo!!! It was soooo safe that I didn't remember where, but I knew it was in this house, right where I put it! Now, let's get somewhat caught up!

In the reborn world, I finally got "Bridgette" (Amy kit by Sandy Faber) back, LOLROTF she went to New York twice in one week. The photographer and I were both sweating bullets! Shissh, what a nightmare! Don't ask...like I said a lot was going on, some good some not so good! She did an AWESOME portrait of her, so it will go with her when she's adopted! I can't wait to see her and all of the beautiful "Amy's" in the professional photographer Jamie Diamond's  "Amy Reborn Project"!

No, this is my photography work...you saw it before! LOL isn't she just adorable in her little nautical outfit!

Several babies were adopted from the nursery, Toddlers: Felicia Renae', Pressli Dawn, Preemie Ayashe nka Kimi the Indian baby just to name a few!
Back in February, to cheer myself up, I purchased (for my personal collection) and to use as a photo prop, a mommy doll to hold some of my reborns, while Bridgette was having fun running back and forth to New York. She's "Kathryn" by sculptor Monika Peter-Leicht 46" tall (almost as tall as me, almost!) and her first bride doll (beautiful gown, flowers, shoes and veil that I put away). I didn't think that she would look nice holding a baby while in a bridal gown, now would she! Kathy is initially a Ltd. Ed. sculpted for Masterpiece Dolls 2011. I love her mature looking face! Kathy's wonderful to pose with her 11 ball joints, has a stand if needed and I mean heavy. I swapped out her original wig, just didn't grab me, found her some adult looking clothing and here she is holding little Bridgette!
Original wig was cute, just looked dull and...wiggie foofoo? in real life LMBO

Her she is with Bridgette, new hair Light Brown with Ginger highlights and glasses! She can even wear pigtails if I want

I've ordered "lots" of micro-preemie kits okay, a few more than usual, too many to name (Kendall by Stephanie Sullivan, Landon by Tamie Yarie, Lewis by Tina Kewy, Chance by Sabine Hansen  Rosebud, by Cindy Musgrove, Caleb, by Heather Boneham), sorry couldn't help it! They are just so tiny and cute!! You know how I love doing them! Not to mention newborn sized kits! I've got to get more babies done because I want to attend the Rose International Doll Show in July, 2015 and fill up my website again!!! I've never been to Denver and I know it's a long drive. I just hope that I have my cousin coming with me, like she said and "Lil D" my girl is going along too!! LeLei will have to visit with his auntie while we're gone! Why? Dolls and 2 pups...nahhhh

Next, I have decided to start using my air-dry permanent paints again for 2014! I just love the fact that I won't have to do all of that "baby baking". LOL I will be applying a Genesis matte sealer as my final touch so that I can do the textured skin technique! I don't think that it will work with the air dry paints at all. I just love the colorings that I can achieve, especially for my darker skin tones much better, than with Genesis and I don't want to forget how to use them. The technique is quite different. No! I will not stop using GHSP, but I will be more flexible with my painting once again!

Last and most important, I finished my "Memory Baby"of "Leah Marie" and I needed to have permission to show her off. Her mom was thrilled non-the-less and gave me permission! So here she is:
I drafted a post back in February but never posted it oooops:

I think that this one speaks for itself

she has a "heart" birthmark on her tummy, so if through time, the red heart eventually comes off one way or another...

I personalized her baby blankie with an teddy bear angel motif  :o)

posing pretty...

 Just so adorable

Beautiful Baby "Leah Marie" and her likeness...which ironically looks a lot like the baby photo of Leah's mom. WOW!

This was her mommy's initial message that I am sharing via many email correspondences. Over the past few months, we have developed a compassionate understanding of one another’s loss...

Ok I finally opened it. And I thank you for everything. I just LOVE the dress especially the crosses. I love the little poems. Even though I did cry a little. She looks and feels so real. pictures doesn't do her justice. I love the little clothes and everything. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! maybe this first will be a little easier because now I have her to hold and cuddle. Mama said she looks like her except for the eyes being opened. I thank you again. and I want you to know I am completely satisfied. and grateful. I also recorded opening the doll. I figured you just wanted the doll if not I'm sorry. I knew it was going to take forever to get through all the little packages because of the babies. As soon as I can figure out how to send you the video from my phone I will send it to you.

She wrote a very touching one just for my website!

I am just thrilled that this "baby" which can never replace her Leah Marie, gives her comfort, even if it's just a little...

You'll never guess...

This isn't a good month for me, so I throw myself into multiple projects because I can't multitask (thinking and working) at the same time. To make matters worse, they say it comes in 3's and I have had that in the last 2 days! One was a very wonderful cousin by marriage that passed and another was just a little baby, then my niece lost her half sister. I've had enough of bad news. Our 27th anniversary would have been tomorrow and the love of my life will be gone for 3 years the 25th. Time just seems to stand still for me, sometimes it seems like 3 months and then again 3 days then it seems like forever. I am improving, but my heart is still broken, I think that it will always be that way. You have your good moments, your up moments and even a few great moments, but that one memory pops in your head for some reason and you go rolling back down the hill. Thank God, it gets a little easier each time to pick yourself back up, it's slow but I can stand. With that being said.
You'll never guess what I've been up to! However, I'm just going to tease you with it! Yes, she's watching you...

Jai Lin has been Adopted!

I was so excited to see Jai Lin get adopted! I have babies everywhere! They definitely need to find new homes, so I can do more! LOL I will be happily shipping her off on Friday!

I have been so busy working on my 3 projects however I am happy to say that I am starting to see the light! My mystery baby is really turning out well. It has been an arduous task because I was developing her as I went along, if that makes sense. She shocked me, if I may say so. A lot of work, so she will definitely be OOAK babies, that's for sure! The other baby is being rooted and the third which was actually supposed to be first needs a few more layers and she will be having the same treatment finally~.

Well back to work, just had to pop in and give updates!

Babies are coming along!

Just checking in and updating! Well Felicia / Nikki and Jazzie / Candy are coming along! Still not real crazy about Felicia's coloring but it's much better than it was. Jazzie is on her last skin tone steps so I hope to be rooting her by tomorrow! I was going to paint her hair, but a trusted friend wants me to root. Okay, so I will! LOL I have never had a hard time figuring out the eyes for my babies until Jazzie! Haven't figured out why either! LMAO However I do have some selected so once she completes her coloring I will make a decision then. I will be getting fresh pictures up hopefully by next week!

Getting there...

As of 7/15/13 little Felicia is going through reconstruction! Sorry it took so long but had a million other things going on and I want her to get my full attention!

Why? she's under reconstruction right now because I wasn't happy with her color. I want more of a honey color and she keeps giving me something else. So I put her aside until...yeah I know another tease, I know! You still can't see her face until I like what I see!  I have my fingers crossed, because she's been a little pain! LOL I just loved how her hair turned out so I refuse to give up on her.

This is as good as it gets for now!

As for the twins that isn't my doing, I am still biting at the bit to show them! LOL

Wish I could show you more! Just a tease

Copy of DSC_2183
I have been so busy and I am so far behind! LOL I have been painting, repairing, redoing and every time I think I’m caught up I find something else I need to do. Let’s not leave out lawn service and wasp chasing (uhhh not so much chasing as devising tactical research to their elimination)! Anyhooo, I have finished the very beautiful twins and I want so bad to show them, but I can’t at the moment. WHY? I can’t say. I just wanted you to know that they are finished and they are adorable, but they must remain anonymous for a little while longer! I just love, love, love how life-like their skin tones turned out and I am bursting at the seams to find them a new mommy! But alas I must have patience and I hope that you will too!

WIP Nadia and Fraternal twins

It's been a heck of a month for April, as the Bible says we won't know one season from the next. Well it has been true. Hot one day frost the next, just pray that May is a little gentler, it would be my hubby's 68 birthday! We survived a tornado touch down that was barely over a mile away. I felt and still feel so blessed and sorry for those hit by it, it just seemed to choose a street and demolished it. The true blessing is no one was killed. Some injuries of course. The only casualty was a line repairman, he was electrocuted the next day trying to restore power to the community. We didn't lose power, but there was dimming. The thunderstorms that followed were powerful. Last year we were dealing with a drought and this year possible floods. LOL to keep from crying, but we're still here me and my babies. I think a lot about my husband especially at times like these. Just don't know what to say anymore, I just know that he's safe now. Just be very careful wherever you are. Anyway on to more positive things, what I have been working on!

Nadia (1st Peep) is coming along! I have been playing with her skin tones and I think that she's going to be beautiful if I may say so myself! I am using bi-racial skin tones and she's developing a beautiful light honey colored flavor! I will be showing pics of her soon! Promise!

Twins Tavis and Tavia are in progress and I would love to show their progress, but I don't  want to mess up because I am trying a new process, a very long process, but truly seems worth the effort.

LOL I will tell you this, that they are going to be Caucasian preemies. The kits are actually twins by Jackie Gwin (Angie and Cody), they are just adorable! I am dying to finish them!!! I put in his eyes so it won't look so weird and if you didn't know...I LOVE REBORNING PREEMIES and no I don't really know why. I think that I just love how tiny and delicate they look, but in reality they can be true little warriors.

Great news Paris and Raven did make it to France to their new mommy!!! I am slowly cleaning out the nursery so that I have some place for the new babies. Hopefully Jiselle and Jenelle are as lucky, I had them on eBay for five days! Poor little Jai-Lin, been on eBay twice now, just won't budge, many watchers though. I will just hold off on her for a little while longer, just wasn't her time.

Anyhoo, have a wonderful and blessed day! Pictures coming soon!

HE MADE IT!!!! YEAH!!!

Jeffrey is now officially an Australian!!

Received: Tues., April 9, 2013 4:46 AM Hi Judie... Well my little man has finally arrived to me in Australia,I am totally in awe of his sweetness, cuteness and adorability.. You have done an amazing work of art in reborning him, And love his Blue eyes, even though I was told they were Brown..You have also done an amazing job of presenting him in his box with all his goodies, to me it was just like xmas opening all the parcels..I thank you so much for his reborning so I can now have the pleasure of being his new Mummy, I love the birth certificates as well... Jeffrey is now sitting in his new stroller with a huge smile on his face and watching TV :) The weather here is warm so I have taken his winter clothing of..I will be changing him soon into his pyjamas ready for bed.. Many Thanks again.. Kind Regards... Shirley & Jeffrey :)

I have to laugh, never had this happen before because his eyes are "supposed to be ebony brown from Masterpiece Eyes. I did look at them once she mentioned that they looked blue and depending on the light there was a lot more blue, but I promise, they were brown! Then while looking at another picture I took, they do look blue, weird, who knows.

LOL Maybe while waiting so long for a mommy crying made his brown eyes blue...Just happy that she's happy!!

I had to try it

I truly hope that everyone had a very nice Valentine's Day. It's just not the same for me, definitely a day for lovers!

So, I've been busy trying to get my taxes together so I can file, finally finished that today. I broke down and got me a "NEATDESK" and love it! I was so sick of pieces of paper here, paper there I could scream. I can see the bottom of my desk again!!! Highly recommend if you are like me, I HATE CLUTTER!

I finally got my big "fugly" baby Jeffery on eBay, FINALLY. If you would like to visit his auction and pray for me that he gets a home real soon! LOLROTF. Here's his auction link:

Okay I went off on another direction again! LOL I haven't painted on canvas since I painted my husband's portrait about a year and a half ago. I took the class to learn how to make my own browns for my AA babies and had to paint on canvas. Not what I wanted to do, but at least I painted what I wanted to paint. Well I got a wild hair and bought a canvas just for the heck of it. I didn't know if it would work, if I could do it or if I just wasted my money. Then I remembered what my instructor told me. "They start out ugly, you just have to keep going...so I dove in.

This is a beautiful picture of a bobcat in the snow that I thought was so beautiful! I choose it over the white wolf because I figured it would be the "big" challenge. So here we go:

The ugly...

After I drew it to scale on the canvas I looked at it for two weeks and realized that wouldn't work, So I dug out my acrylic paints by Liquitex and decided to start with the eyes. Why? I figured if I can't get them right wasn't any point in going any further. Then I started working on the nose at the same time. Another stumbling block if there is one...

The good...

Okay, I could work with this I thought. Now for the really, really big test! Her coat, which was soooo stunning to me. I just gotta do this right I thought or it's going to the trash.

The BEST!!!

I did step away to see things that I didn't see while upon it and finished her coat put in snow and this is my artist rendition! I took her to Michael's and had it framed. Another challenge because I wanted her eyes and her fur to POP! I picked out what kinda caught my eye, but I was scared.

The Final cut! The brushed antique gold trim brings out her eyes and the brown frame makes her fur just say "touch me"!

I was never so pleased with how "she" turned out in my life! Usually I don't like what I do, but this was different! I was inspired after I started painting...finished in two days and my hand didn't let me forget! LOL So now...I have to get back to painting my babies...I have too, they've been waiting so patiently. So back to little Nadia (1st Peep)!

I am so EXCITED! I got my own DELIVERY!!

OK, ok! LOL I finally did it! As a gift to myself and add to my own personal collection, a 2nd reborn, but in silicone!!!

ok, wow. I have gotten a beautiful full-sized baby by Michelle Fagan, not full body (silicone) but I don't care! These pictures do not do anything for her cuteness! She was well taken care of by her previous mommy and I am over the moon! She had to regretfully give her up for personal reasons and I do understand. Don't get me wrong, I have had micro-preemie silicones (Gemma who was adopted) and still have my LTD. Ed. Kiyah...but never a BIG baby!..ok, I know enough talking! LOLROTF

She came with adorable little goodies!

a beautiful warm blankie!

now let's meet Desiree:

when she arrived she had on the sweetest little outfit with little leggins!

Awwwwww! She's soooo cuddly cute, filled with baby fat pellets...squishy soft! She has a cloth body (2005 that's what we had), that has been autographed by Michelle! She's a little over 6 lbs. and 22 inches long. Desiree has a wonderful cuddle factor and just as cute as a button! Did I already say that? She has 1/4 arms and 3/4 legs. She has the most precious fat chubby legs and thighs! Am I a proud mommy or what!

Let's get you all gussied up and warm! She has beautiful dark brown hair, just a little thin in back but I've seen real babies with that so it just fits and beautiful brown eyes. Oh and I couldn't resist piercing her ears! She wasn't real happy about that!

I was so happy! She can accept a modified pacifier!!! Yeah!!!

all settled in...I think that she will like it here.

and she's just as pretty in pink! I am so glad that she's mine now...and I'm going to take good care of her!

Well back to work, gotta get Nadia (1st Peep) into her next phase of color!

Moving right along updated

Thanksgiving with my family was actually fun this year. We ate good as usual and I played a game with my sister, nieces and nephew. My sister and her husband from out of town came to visit, a real surprise. Still miss my hubby something fierce, just not the same without him, really nothing is the same. Now Christmas is coming again (this was his favorite holiday to celebrate) so I made myself go out and put up a few decorations. The weather was unbelievably beautiful and I must say it turned out pretty festive looking when I finally finished. I just kept it simple. It really looks nice because all of my neighbors houses are now decorated too!

Then I had to have my sewing machines worked on, had to get one fixed because it just wore out belonged to my mom and I cut my "sewing" teeth on it. The other brand new in comparison was a little out of timing. I am making a very big dog coat (that is very heavy) for a friend so I definitely want the older one working! That's when they made real sewing machines, now everything is disposable and plastic. LOL I broke my favorite guitar, my very firstest. Well I can't say that I broke it, broke it. It is over 40 years old and I think it just couldn't take anymore tuning! So I may just have her around me for sentimental reasons. My Ibanez has to be adjusted, got sick of that buzzing sound on the 6th string 1st fret. I just thank God that I have my Fender to practice on! LOL At first I thought that I was losing it getting another guitar, but I have never believed in coincidence.

I found the neatest brushes that are tiny and made for detailing, miniature as a matter of fact! Yes they have really tiny brush ends but the handles are regular length so don't panic! I love them!!! These works great on those tiny preemies that every loves to hate! LOL I love reborning preemies but doing detailing with toothpicks is a pain in the U no what. I found them at Wallyworld aka WalMart's! Just perfect for those hard to reach tiny spots and you get the set for about $6.00 and they are made by Daler-Rowney. I haven't seen them anywhere else as yet. You get an angle brush, spotter great for preemie nails and a curved tiny round brush, a tiny fan brush, a teenie tiny filbert great for blending out tight areas. I like them so well I had to get another set just in case this was a fluke and never to be seen again. They are just so cute and don't let me leave out FUNCTIONAL! Oh snap, I should have put a regular sized brush next to them for comparison.  I will do that, hey maybe even later today!
Okay here's the size comparison of my minature brushes to the regular size. I didn't put down the angle brush, because I think that you get the picture!

Update on the girls:
Abra and Pressli Dawn are getting rooted and it's looking good if I may say so myself. Chane'l is being slowly colored because I want a certain skin tone for her but just as a sneak peek I will show you how she's doing! A little funny looking right now, shes on her 4th layer, hasn't been heat set yet. I paint weird, I know. LOL I like to do about 5 -6 layers, if I can and no less than 4 before I heat set my paint, just seems to cut down on the shine. In order to accomplish this I let them set up for several days between layers for obvious reasons. I also like to paint my lips first and then bring the skin tones up to the lip shade that I want if I am going for darker skin color. It's just easier for me to know where I am going...so to speak! Yeah I know...weird, but I used to have to strip and strip my lips when I tried doing them along the way or doing them last. So there really is method to my madness for my AA babies.

I've gotten numerous emails for babies so I'm excited about that. It keeps me inspired. I just got a couple more kits (like I need more). Tamie Yarie's big one "Raven" she's going to be 21 -22 inches long (I have to take her kit picture) and a couple below by Shawna Clymer " Felicia" is supposed to be 18 inches

and "Lacey" 19 -20. They are all just too adorable for words!

More updates to come!
