I was so excited to see Jai Lin get adopted! I have babies everywhere! They definitely need to find new homes, so I can do more! LOL I will be happily shipping her off on Friday!
I have been so busy working on my 3 projects however I am happy to say that I am starting to see the light! My mystery baby is really turning out well. It has been an arduous task because I was developing her as I went along, if that makes sense. She shocked me, if I may say so. A lot of work, so she will definitely be OOAK babies, that's for sure! The other baby is being rooted and the third which was actually supposed to be first needs a few more layers and she will be having the same treatment finally~.
Well back to work, just had to pop in and give updates!
From my heart to yours...
Hugs,
Judie

Once again, I'm re-grouping...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
Well, here's the story long version short. After me being a nervous wreck, Lil D had surgery done to her knee and they repaired the meniscus, cartiledge and the ligament. They shaved off the entire leg and half her "bootiebangs". That is going to look weird for a little while, ya think! Her birthday was the next day, what a birthday present! lolrotf All joking aside my poor baby was in a lot of pain and had a lot of swelling. So between drugs and cold packs I'd like to think that her discomfort level has been kept to a minimum. She only has 5 sutures but it looks like a total knee LOL (for such a little leg). She'll get them out next week and will be on "lockdown" looks like till July for complete healing. So she gets to walk enough to go potty, lost 1 lb. and she's getting back to her much missed personality. She loves riding in her stroller which has been a blessing to me and she is doing very well! This was on her birthday and the day after surgery.
Now I can get back to business. I guess with the rain, we went to sleep a little too early and I am wide awake! Which is good, I can show you that I have been productive as I could be. I have redone my website and I LOVE IT! Natalie has done an awesome job once again! I have one more page to setup with my MP eyes and baby items and it'll be completed! YEAAAAAHHHH!!! You just gotta see to appreciate and don't forget to sign my guestbook! Here's my link:

Little Jai-Li is soooo cute! She is almost ready for a birthday. Between her and Seth, I had hoped to have at least one of them done by Easter we shall see. Anyhooo, I used TNGUN hair for her and it's just soooo baby soft and worked beautifully for her!

I did complete her little custom outfits and got them pressed out. Excuse the pins, they are finished just haven't done update pics with all that was happening. I will show you how cute she's going to look! Sorry it's just a tease! LOL This is her little Chinese robe set:

Seth (aka Lex)
Well little Seth is getting cuter by the day taking my dear sweet time on rooting his head. He is just adorable...oh sorry I've said that before. Jai Li still needs her nails and touch up done. Basically been lap sitting Little D! Just a mama's baby!! :o) She is still limping, no better but no worse. I started her on Omega3 to help heal her joint injury, also helps with her coat / shedding. Still don't know if it will heal on it's own but it's worth a try. I will be calling her vet tomorrow.

Progress..
Well I've kept her quiet as possible. Still not weight bearing after 24 hours but I hope that is a plus, I wish for her to heal slowly and completely. The less she trys to use her little leg the better, I'll have to report to her vet next Monday either way! Just hope surgery is not required!! Did I say that already? Poor baby she is getting a little more back to herself, probably the drugs! Anti-inflamatory and pain medication, lets say she's doing a lot more sleeping. I also think that she is eating up the fact that she's getting carried around a lot! LOL
Now I can get started back on rooting my Lex. I just can't wait to see how his hair is going to turn out too! Still have to do nails on both babies and make Jai Li's special little outfit. I was looking at the material last night! I think she's going to be sooooo what shall we say? Oriental! LOLROTF

Jai Li's progress...
Progress!!!!
Well, well, well she's got her eyelashes after all! Yeahhhh and they were just the right size! I didn't want to overwhelm her eyes with ones that would be too big. I think these are just perfect! Then I took her a step further, I micro-rooted her eyebrows with Suri alpaca. I like the texture because this alpaca is truly baby fine and I think they worked out perfectly, they look so delicate, much better than mohair or human which is much too coarse for infant brows. Just the same I think that it builds even more character when you can carry realism one step further.
Seth is coming along nicely, he'll have updates soon!

W.I.P.
Catching up once again ! LOL
I am working on Lex by Natali Blick and Jiao by Andrie Stoete now known as Seth and Jai Li (Jah-Lee) which means good and beautiful in Chinese. Yes, I am actually working on 2 babies at one time! Both will have brown eyes of course and dark brown hair. One's a boy and the other a girl! That helped immensely! Jai Li's hair looks almost black it's so pretty and a rich soft dark brown. Seth will be micro-rooted with Slumberland hair in deep dark brown. Jai Li's hair will be dark, dark brown from TNGUN and she is looking awesome. I am using a #46 and you better go slow, even though they say that they are extra strength, I have broken quite a few needles, but I love the results so far! It will be worth it, they are coming along beautiful!

Seth:
Isn't that the cutest little raspberry!!!
I love how his skin tones are coming out!
Jai Li
Although to me on here the look pretty much the same color in these photos I assure you that they are not. Both have very, very thin layers and layers of GHSPs. With her, I didn't want a lot of yellow undertones. Asians have a wide range of coloring. I do love how her coloring is coming out as well. I am debating on if she will have eyelashe are not. She has those tight little hooded eyes that may be over-whelmed if I don't do it right. Seth with very natural looking darker Caucasion undertones is really a cutie too! I can't wait to see him with his eyelashes. I am hoping for dreamy eyes! I think that you will really enjoy their photo shoots when they are ready! I have got some ideas for Jai Li that I am biting at the bit to do!

She's getting better, she's getting hair
Finally got her shadows and highlights right. Who would have thought that you could paint hair with Quinacridone Magenta and Phthalo Blue. It does have a soft look and no she's not finished, she still needs some more layers just like a reborn! LOL
I am going to try this on a test head to see how it works/looks on vinyl. I still have more work on her and looking forward to starting on my next canvas. I'm all signed up for my next session to learn more and finish her at last. I know that I will not be painting canvas, I'll stick to my 3 dimensional babies! LOLROTF

Got my colors mapped out for Jack, Capri and my little Asian baby Jiao to start VERY soon. I also got me a heat gun that I am dying to try out.
I can't seem to find a larger convection oven so this might be my next resort for my larger sculpts. I really love GHSP's but then I limit myself on my sculpt sizes that I can use in my little oven. I refuse to use my cooking oven to heat the kits. From all that I have read this takes less time and you can localize areas that you are working on. I have a larger one already for my bigger areas.

Vacation is OVER! Kits, kits, and more kits!
Getting my creative juices flowing again, finally! lol I am so excited! I had a family situation that was ongoing and honestly I became totally side tracked. That has now been resolved!
I will be taking a continued education art class for different paint mediums to improve my skin tones in my AA babies starting in June. I had the opportunity to talk with a wonderful instructor and she was so interesting and interested, being a doll collector as well, in working with me. I always feel that I never know enough and I always want to improve my painting techniques (any chance that I get) so that you as a reborn collector will never be dissappointed in purchasing my babies. I have so many in mind that I want to start, I can't make up my mind where to start (have I said that before? :0))! They are all adorable kits! For example and just to name a very few:
Jolina (awaken) by Master Artist Manuela Muth, 1st Peep by Charlotte Parry, Jiao by Adrie Stoete, Erika by Shawna Clymer, Tessa by Didy Jacobsen and Max by Tamie Yarie
I am waiting patiently on my Jayden by Claire Taylor, Jack by Tamie Yarie (I love doing preemies), Marco by Master Artist Nel de Man and Capri by Jorja Pigott (Gooooooo JORJA!!!). Debbie Henshaw of "They Never Grow Up Nursery did an amazing job on her prototype too!! Yeahhhhh Debbie!!!
In addition, I am now the proud owner of some gorgeous Suri Alpaca fiber from Renee of Black Meadow Farm in a NATURAL black from her Kona that I am dying to use, it is definitely a different finer texture which will work great for my "day old" newborns and preemies. I know that my mohair fiber is luxiouriously soft and of very high quality (from Ellen of Slumberland Nursery)with very little waste and works very well for my newborns and toddlers. The clincher is that I love the fact that it is not dyed and the color is even (no reds or white hairs that I have seen). I have had no luck with the darker colors of mohair, through time, they still seem to bleed. Okay, I guess that I am excited about everything and just need to get busy! They have all had their baths so I will be posting my before photos when I get started soon!
Don't forget to visit my website and sign my guestbook! I'd love for you to see my new look!
