Cuddles WIP now Paris

Sorry I took so long for her update. I have been working quite a bit with "little" Cuddles and another AA baby now named Lashawn. I hope to show a few pics of him soon, but I have to wait because he's also been a slow process, thank God not nearly her size! LOL I work on her, I work on him, I work on her, work on her, I work on him.
Not good at multi-tasking right now, I just miss my hubby so much it's hard to stay focused for any length of time. No matter...I will make myself focus, today I did just that.

If you remember, I was talking about the grayish hue that the kit had and that it had everyone upset? Well, layer by layer, inch by inch I have been developing her skin tones to where I want her.

These are her progress photos:  BEFORE

This was the comparison to the "peach" and what she looked like as Bountiful Babies "peach" next to Bountiful Babies peach "Kate" and a tummy plate.

Here she has had her base layers established...humm what shall I call her?
now she is just about where I want her skin tones!
Meet Paris!!!
How about these eyes! The color is Tempest *Masterpiece Eyes and I think that they are very striking. When she gets her lashes and eyebrows I think that will really bring them out. I just had to give her bigger eyes. They call for 22 mm but I went to 25mm in the soft sculpt eyes. I didn't want to open the back of the eye sockets and the 22 mm seemed to float around in her head. They filled in nicely and I don't know but I do like the contrast with her skin (at least for the moment).

What is really neat..these eyes have the veined look so they really look natural! I got them a while back just to see what they looked like. At first I was like ughhhh, kinda creeped me out. Then I thought, "crap I don't have anybody for these eyes" and I hide them away until now then voila' they have a home! Once inserted the veins are very suttle, I had to get really close just so that they would show up here. I could only hope.

Soon as she gets all of her layers done (hopefully before the week is out) because, I am just dying to see her with AA human hair that I have wanted to use for over a year now. Just never saw the right candidate to use it on. I will probably be sorry before I am done. It has a tight curl and I really think that it will suit her! Oh and hopefully baby Lashawn (which is Hebrew for "God is gracious"). I like that it has a nice ring to it! LOL

See you with more updates!

I got my Cuddles and she's a biggin! LOL

First I hope that you had a lovely and Happy Valentine's Day with your special sweetheart! Mine wasn't, it was the first one I have been alone for in 34 years and it was one of worst and the most depressing week of my life next to losing him. I miss my husband terribly. I missed the roses, the card, the little box of candy and the occasional stuffed animal, I miss him so much.

Now I really need to speak on something more upbeat and cheerful. I think that this will work. I shot little Teddy's portfolio then updated "aka Jack" and that helped.

Then I got Cuddles and gave her a bath. OMG, she's unbelievably huge! .I think that she has an adorable face! Her head is almost the size of mine with big chubby thighs and fat little hands! LOL Her "kit" skin tone has a bluish/gray hue which is upsetting some a lot of reborners! I am going to work with her and hope for the best with her "going-to-be" ethnic, I don't think it will be a real problem.
I have a perfect little dress that finally has an owner. I never had a kit with a head that would fit the little hat until now! Good thing I got a bigger oven and I still have to lay her head down LOL I had to shop for her a little for another adorable little dress even before I start on her, I am so excited! Out of all the tons of baby shoes I have I had to go buy her some of those too. This baby-to-be wears an unbelievable size 3 comfortably, she can fit some size 2 shoes with a little fight.

Just so you could see how big her head is, I did a size comparison to Kate also from BB by Marissa May. She will be 20 inches long and is a Peach kit with a head circumference approximately 14 1/4 inches opposed to Cuddles, by Donna RuBert, 26 inches long, (bent legs 24” toddler) a Peach kit approximately circumference 16 inches (that I will be measuring soon for accuracy).

Jack is now Teddy!

Nice way to start out the year!

I have made myself get back on track and finally finished little Jack now known as Teddy. It seems so funny, once I got started on him I didn't want to stop.  I will post his updated photo shoot on his "Jack" page. I am so excited, he turned out so well!

I have ordered "Cuddles" (of whom I did fall in love with) from BB because I am just dying to try out this AA human hair that I bought last fall. I didn't have a sculpt in my collection that I felt it would work for and this sounds like a Bigggg toddler. I am so looking forward to trying it! I have a feeling that she's going to look just adorable with a little curly Afro, even if it takes me 6 weeks to root her! I just hope that her head isn't too big for my convection oven! Now that would be ugly! LOL
I hope that they don't mind, but had to temporarily borrow BB's "un-reborn" photo until she comes! She's the first of  Donna RuBert's Fabulous Quad Series. Cookie, Ladybug and Kitten followed, but I liked her expression the bestest! She's 24 inches with her chubby knees bent but is supposed to work out to a whopping 26 inches with 3/4 limbs. Cuddles and her sisters are the equivalent of  9 or 12 month old toddlers.

Little Keanu enjoys his new home with his new mommy, they both attended the art show with me! Mentioning art, I have started a new session for my art class. This time I am doing portrait paintings of my husband. I just hope and pray that I can really do him justice and it doesn't turn out like a caricatures of him but an actual dimensional paintings.

Jack is back and going through the birthing process!

Yeahhhhh, I finally worked up the nerve to start reborning again after my husband's passing. I know that he wouldn't have wanted it any other way, but I just found it soooo hard to get started. He was my best critic and poor tormented "whadda ya think of this or whadda ya think of that" sounding board. I miss him very very much for so many reasons.

Now about Jack (I don't want to depress you), I love Tamie Yarie's preemie sculpts and I love doing preemies. I love little Jack especially, because he's a micro-preemie. He'll be about 14 inches completed, very detailed and just simply adorably precious features. I couldn't decide on his ethnicity and finally let my heart lead me. He is going to be Caucasian since I haven't done one in a while.
Then:

Now...
He's got his first 3 layers and I am letting the thinner flash off and bake these layers. I have his little outfits are just the cutest, so that was the extra incentive to get started. I can't wait to see him "born".
I will keep posting his progress on his special page, so keep checking back for his updates! I am excited!

Finally what I have been doing

It has been a long time coming I know, but finally:

Keanu was adopted the first day of the year and living his new mommy. Jack has had his bath, his outfits picked out and I can't wait to start his skin tones!

Capri: That I had promised to do for my husband's granddaughter, I finally got her finished and she got her Capri 3 days before Christmas was the last baby in 2010

My problem child:
Her life was destined for the trash can, but I refused to give up on her and after much stripping and crying and stripping. My little Felicia Renae' was finally put together in 2011.

what a silly girl!

such a happy smile

going for a ride

best buds!

watch the birdie
admiring her portrait at the art show

already to go!

Also finally finished, my other piece that I promised was also in the show. Yes, the llama has real mohair for fur and the tree, his lead and the grass is done in 3-D
