boy things that do happen

Well FB and my blog were on the blink so I figured if FB was working again, maybe, just maybe this would be working right. I still have my pet projects, painting the bathroom now that my "private jacuzzi is in (nice I might add). After all that has happened, now this. Yesterday my brother was ran over by a car while working in his own front yard. He was drug 40 feet (mind you we aren't getting any younger and he's older than me...that's all I am gonna say on that.). A young kid (20ish) lost control around a curve while speeding, thank God he had a conscious, he stayed there with him and called 911. I made my prayer, in short, to just let him have a few bumps or at worst a broken leg...seeing how he's a good 6 feet tall. God did answer my prayer. He does have a broken leg in 2 places which will require surgery, several hickeys on his head (no signs of brain trauma so far), a very busted-up lip, lots of road rash (hopefully not getting infected) and a possible (?) broken thumb. Being him still cracking jokes when he wasn't in pain, so that was a good sign. Going to check on him in a few. Just needed to get some updates going!

Now I can admit that I haven't been idle! Paris has been fully rooted with a full head of hair (never again) Lol. She has human hair and now I got the wild idea that she needed a twin. I tell ya, I think that I have lost my mind, they are going to be identical but different as day and night. This baby (Cookie aka Raven) will have wispy hair for sure! LOLROTF Needless to say, I can't give Paris a birthday until her twin is done so she's just put together. Duh!  But I wanted you to see how she has progressed so I am going to do a sneaky peak just for you. As much as I hated rooting all of that hair, I love it! Now that I can breath again, I am going to get started on Raven after I leave the hospital!

I got my Riley!

Well I got her and she's had her bath, I can see it now. However, I am still rooting on Paris's head, not funny, will probably be summer by the time I get her done! LOL No matter, she's getting cuter and cuter! When I get a little more around her head I will do updates. Oh, did I mention that I am using human hair?

I am in love...Riley by Jessica Schenk

Okay, I am in truly in love. I have been staring at the Riley kit by Jessica Schenk every since she came out and I saw her prototype beautifully reborn by Cassie Peek of Baby Dust Nursery.  I really think that she makes the sweetest AA baby! So, once again I took the plunge and ordered this kit.   She has 3/4 arms and full legs ! She will be anywhere from 21-23 inches long. Her head is 14 1/2 inches around, with thighs that are so chubby-chunky! I am waiting patiently (since I just ordered her 5 am this morning)! LOL

Ohhhh and I finished my "secret" baby and sent it off, but since it's a surprise baby I can't post its piccies! I can't tell the sex, ughhh I want to show it off soooo bad but it will have to be after Mother's Day! I am looking forward to my surprise as well! Now gotta get back to Cuddles / Paris!

Cuddles WIP

I just went through the 6th month anniversary of losing my love and that was so hard accepting that as being fact, it's like there's no definitive concept of time, a dream that you never seem to wake up from. I kinda stopped in my tracks when it hit me. So I drug myself through that and trying to get on track again, the hard part is staying there. Two steps up, four steps back, but I have faith that I will learn how to cope better each day. I just miss him so much and every time you look up it seems like it's another holiday of some sort   So I had been working on other projects that I needed to get completed or felt I needed to complete, installing a walk in tub (for me,  I like to call my own private jacuzzi), a scrapbook of my husband and finishing my mom's. I did it and once again, I am finally feeling a resemblance of  norm. okay, okay...lol, back to the point at hand. CUDDLES.

Well Cuddles nka Paris is in the process of her rooting! I am using human hair that has a really nice curl and with her honey skin tones, blue eyes and chubby cheeks I think she's going to be another cutie! I need to do updates of her progress for sure. I want to get a little more hair in before I do but that won't be long.

Cuddles WIP now Paris

Sorry I took so long for her update. I have been working quite a bit with "little" Cuddles and another AA baby now named Lashawn. I hope to show a few pics of him soon, but I have to wait because he's also been a slow process, thank God not nearly her size! LOL I work on her, I work on him, I work on her, work on her, I work on him.
Not good at multi-tasking right now, I just miss my hubby so much it's hard to stay focused for any length of time. No matter...I will make myself focus, today I did just that.

If you remember, I was talking about the grayish hue that the kit had and that it had everyone upset? Well, layer by layer, inch by inch I have been developing her skin tones to where I want her.

These are her progress photos:  BEFORE

This was the comparison to the "peach" and what she looked like as Bountiful Babies "peach" next to Bountiful Babies peach "Kate" and a tummy plate.

Here she has had her base layers established...humm what shall I call her?
now she is just about where I want her skin tones!
Meet Paris!!!
How about these eyes! The color is Tempest *Masterpiece Eyes and I think that they are very striking. When she gets her lashes and eyebrows I think that will really bring them out. I just had to give her bigger eyes. They call for 22 mm but I went to 25mm in the soft sculpt eyes. I didn't want to open the back of the eye sockets and the 22 mm seemed to float around in her head. They filled in nicely and I don't know but I do like the contrast with her skin (at least for the moment).

What is really neat..these eyes have the veined look so they really look natural! I got them a while back just to see what they looked like. At first I was like ughhhh, kinda creeped me out. Then I thought, "crap I don't have anybody for these eyes" and I hide them away until now then voila' they have a home! Once inserted the veins are very suttle, I had to get really close just so that they would show up here. I could only hope.

Soon as she gets all of her layers done (hopefully before the week is out) because, I am just dying to see her with AA human hair that I have wanted to use for over a year now. Just never saw the right candidate to use it on. I will probably be sorry before I am done. It has a tight curl and I really think that it will suit her! Oh and hopefully baby Lashawn (which is Hebrew for "God is gracious"). I like that it has a nice ring to it! LOL

See you with more updates!
