Guest Book for Tommie Johnson – Online Guest Book by St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Legacy.com.

2012 another lonely Christmas, I could have just as easily slept through the whole thing, but it wasn't an option. I am thankful for family/friend that helped me muddle through this one. I have been working on a memory book for my husband / for me. I am going to download his guestbook into book format on his 3rd Anniversary or his birthday in May. I would appreciate if you would sign it for me until then. Here's the link:

BABY update

Went from warm to extremely windy and bitter cold here. LeLei got to see his first snow and didn't quite know what to make of it, too funny, but he quickly adjusted and Delylah (being a pro) could care less. Now it's melted, still cold and it's winter!

Well we are about to wrap this year up. Seems it went by soooo soon! I felt like I had just put up the Christmas lights from last year and it was time to get them out again. And yes again, it took everything I had to do them. It's just not the same anymore without him. I guess that it's because it was our favorite time of the year, now it just seems like another day. Then with all of the tragedies that have happened. I just don't know, people killing babies just doesn't sit well with me. To cheer me up my fav cousin sent me a beautiful poinsettia. It's so big it looks like a tree and I'm not good with these things (bummer). It's just good to have family and friends to be with during this time, but that isn't what I came here to talk to you about. Its been running through my mind, regardless, I am trying to keep an upbeat post going on here.

So stay on track Judie, stay on track! I came to show you updates on the girls. Here they are together Abra (L) and Presley Dawn. You can see the difference in their skin tones that way too!

Presley has eyelashes now. I did her hair with Slumberland mohair. Abra is still WIP but she's being done with TNGUN mohair and I have to say it but I really do like it better. Maybe because it's "kid" cut, that being the first haircut on the young goat, it's more "baby"? I don't know, but all that I've gotten from her, it simply seems softer. Now don't get me wrong I do love Slumberland's hair, but you know we all have our favs! :o)

Abra is just about completed in the front, it's wet, but I still wanted to take her pic to show you. I just love how her skin tones came out! I'm thinking more peaches n' cream? She has "flash face" from my Cphone camera, so on the next one so she looks a lot lighter than she is.

Both of them have glass eyes. I just love the little pouty mouth on Abra and I think that she has more of a fat baby look in comparison! I can't wait to start dressing them. Doesn't look like a Christmas birthday for them.

No Presley's Lashes aren't super long. It's just the way that I angled the camera at her head so that you could see how delicate looking they are! She has such dreamy eyes don't you think? I guess that you can see her little stark bite! I made Presley Dawn a little nose scratch too, thought about doing one on her cheek but that seemed like over-kill after I thought about it (before doing it, thank God), had to clip her nails so that she won't do it again. Why do babies always end up with some kind of booboo right before a holiday picture? LOL

Can you see her lashes? Sorry about the blurry pictures, as I said, took these on my cellphone while I was working on Abra so they are not the best at the moment but you can at least see how they are progressing!

All trimmed up, she's going to sport the short wispy style and Abra will have curly hair or at least it can be styled to be curly! I'm going over her for a final inspection before she comes all together, so to speak. At this point they will be my first babies of the New Year for certain! Cooking for Christmas again. With that being said...

I just hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a very blessed New "2013" if I don't get to post before!

Moving right along updated

Thanksgiving with my family was actually fun this year. We ate good as usual and I played a game with my sister, nieces and nephew. My sister and her husband from out of town came to visit, a real surprise. Still miss my hubby something fierce, just not the same without him, really nothing is the same. Now Christmas is coming again (this was his favorite holiday to celebrate) so I made myself go out and put up a few decorations. The weather was unbelievably beautiful and I must say it turned out pretty festive looking when I finally finished. I just kept it simple. It really looks nice because all of my neighbors houses are now decorated too!

Then I had to have my sewing machines worked on, had to get one fixed because it just wore out belonged to my mom and I cut my "sewing" teeth on it. The other brand new in comparison was a little out of timing. I am making a very big dog coat (that is very heavy) for a friend so I definitely want the older one working! That's when they made real sewing machines, now everything is disposable and plastic. LOL I broke my favorite guitar, my very firstest. Well I can't say that I broke it, broke it. It is over 40 years old and I think it just couldn't take anymore tuning! So I may just have her around me for sentimental reasons. My Ibanez has to be adjusted, got sick of that buzzing sound on the 6th string 1st fret. I just thank God that I have my Fender to practice on! LOL At first I thought that I was losing it getting another guitar, but I have never believed in coincidence.

I found the neatest brushes that are tiny and made for detailing, miniature as a matter of fact! Yes they have really tiny brush ends but the handles are regular length so don't panic! I love them!!! These works great on those tiny preemies that every loves to hate! LOL I love reborning preemies but doing detailing with toothpicks is a pain in the U no what. I found them at Wallyworld aka WalMart's! Just perfect for those hard to reach tiny spots and you get the set for about $6.00 and they are made by Daler-Rowney. I haven't seen them anywhere else as yet. You get an angle brush, spotter great for preemie nails and a curved tiny round brush, a tiny fan brush, a teenie tiny filbert great for blending out tight areas. I like them so well I had to get another set just in case this was a fluke and never to be seen again. They are just so cute and don't let me leave out FUNCTIONAL! Oh snap, I should have put a regular sized brush next to them for comparison.  I will do that, hey maybe even later today!
Okay here's the size comparison of my minature brushes to the regular size. I didn't put down the angle brush, because I think that you get the picture!

Update on the girls:
Abra and Pressli Dawn are getting rooted and it's looking good if I may say so myself. Chane'l is being slowly colored because I want a certain skin tone for her but just as a sneak peek I will show you how she's doing! A little funny looking right now, shes on her 4th layer, hasn't been heat set yet. I paint weird, I know. LOL I like to do about 5 -6 layers, if I can and no less than 4 before I heat set my paint, just seems to cut down on the shine. In order to accomplish this I let them set up for several days between layers for obvious reasons. I also like to paint my lips first and then bring the skin tones up to the lip shade that I want if I am going for darker skin color. It's just easier for me to know where I am going...so to speak! Yeah I know...weird, but I used to have to strip and strip my lips when I tried doing them along the way or doing them last. So there really is method to my madness for my AA babies.

I've gotten numerous emails for babies so I'm excited about that. It keeps me inspired. I just got a couple more kits (like I need more). Tamie Yarie's big one "Raven" she's going to be 21 -22 inches long (I have to take her kit picture) and a couple below by Shawna Clymer " Felicia" is supposed to be 18 inches

and "Lacey" 19 -20. They are all just too adorable for words!

More updates to come!

Baby Preview update

While taking my time, I thought that I'd just give a little preview of the WIP babies

Abra (Jolina by Manuel Muth), I just love this name! She has her veins and some detailing. Loving her skin tones already. I've made all of the girls breathers.

She's got the cutest chunky arms and legs! I am deciding on her eye color now. Brown did nothing for her so I may be going with what she has in now (reborn designer glass eyes in black/blue with large pupils ) LOL. Now to finish up her detailing!

Pressli Dawn is coming along beautifully! I opted for the larger iris and pupil for her in Luminous LDC dark Grey. It made her appear more newborn like. Her hand painted eyebrows came out beautifully!
She has textured facial "skin" with a little baby drool!

Chane'l my AA baby is under development as we speak, not far enough along to show but I am excited about all of their progress!

Well back to work!

Getting busy

I got another guitar...still don't know how to play very well lol but I like it a lot! Still taking lessons and each time I learn a little more. Not bad for my age! It's a Ibanez V70CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar in transparent blue. Just gorgeous! Even though it's brand new I had new strings put on, because they don't hurt my fingers as bad. Ohhh, it's a Christmas present to myself. Now I have 3 guitars! My Fender, that I bought last year as my BD present to myself and my very oooooold (probably older than you) unknown maker except that it is Japanese made guitar.

Happy days!!! I am not big on politics and have to admit that I am glad that all of the election hoopla is over for the most part. I was not happy about the phone calls on my land line or cellphone, a major turn off, but not a voting deterent by any means. So that's my take on that!!!

I am starting on my next 2 babies from DD's, Jolina by Manuela Muth with open eyes is about 18 - 19 inches long.

I am going to do this one as caucasian and Madeleine by Birgit Gutzwiller with closed eyes is going to be AA and 20 inches long.
They've had their baths and I just have to decide which skin tones I want to go with! LOL I am sure I am leaning towards a honey color for Madeleine, but if I can get darker...who knows! I am doing some experimenting with a different type of thinner so it's going to be interesting. I am definitely going to root with my dark brown from TNGUN and leaning towards brown from Slumberland Nursery for the other. I love these little faces and I know that they are going to be just too adorable!

A CUTE new edition to the family

Believe it or not, I haven't been totally immobilized and staring into space and wasting time. Not necessarily in this order, but I have attended a funeral, did some kit painting, rebuilt a ramp, having a tree cut down and stump removed, cleaning up the stump area and planting mums where the stump used to be (decided against another tree, but it looked so naked), cleaning gutters, mowing and fertilizing the lawn and finding out why it was raining inside my kitchen bay window as much as outside, taking the pup to the vet again and this time for xrays because he's still limping when he gets up from a nap or in the morning! Everything but the tree, stump and funeral I did by myself, oh and the xrays (hehehe). Whew and I'm not getting younger day by day! LMAO Now I hope things will settle down at least for a little while. I treated myself to a new camera lens 300mm and loving it! Enough jabbering!

I want to introduce you to another new edition. Enjoy!

HOPEFULLY you remember that Kiwi (my chimp) has felt pretty lonely for his own kind for a while. Oh he has many friends there are gorillas, koala bears, Teddy-bears and Snoopy too! But...still he felt so alone.

Feeling so bad for him missing his cousins and all (Nema and Deka) I felt that I must do something! After searching around the world, my eyes fell upon a tiny little orphan girl with no name. Merely a few weeks old she had lost all of her family due to heartless poachers. They left this baby clinging tightly to her dead mother. Luckily a well-meaning passerby saw what had happened and went about checking for other possible life...sadly there was none, only this poor hungry tiny baby with barely a flicker of life. They quickly rushed her to the nearest primate compound that takes care of these special orphaned babies.

She was a pitiful little sight when I saw her. Just skin and bones but this baby had the biggest beautiful hazel green eyes that sparkled like the sea on a moon lit night. When she looked back at me and gripped my finger like there was no tomorrow with those tiny hands, stick a fork in me I’m done, I knew that I had to have her. It took a while getting paper work and getting her to eat in order to gain her strength and weight back. Soon she reached 2 lbs, we packed all of her little things, a ton of special formula and enough diapers and blankets for the long trip. We wanted her to feel as secure as possible. While I was there waiting, I got as much input as I could for a name for her, Lucky, PeeWee, Tinkerbell but nothing seemed to fit. Finally my friend Cindy came up with a perfect name, we called her LuLu and she grinned like she knew it was her name.

Then we arrived back home!!! What a happy day for all of us! Kiwi started in with a high pitched scream so loud that I thought that he would wake the neighbors. Little LuLu (I call her LuLubug because she's still so tiny) squealed with joy and they have been inseparable every since.

Kiwi just adores her and she, him. Maybe it's because they are a kindred spirit?

she just loves to be tickled by her big brother

He grooms her, feeds her and if they are out of one another's sight, there is hell to pay!

He leaves the bathing and dirty diapers to me, hummm. Seems like I'm getting the dirty end of the deal?

LuLubug is so much happier, thriving wonderfully, she seems to know that she is safe now.

She's even learning to play with new friends

He picked out her favorite monkey toy all by himself and she just loves it! Of all things "Curious George".

Sometimes I think that he thinks he'll regret that choice

Ohhhh, I find that she is also a little camera hog...

like her brother. I shoulda named her Ms. Piggy!

Only 2 lbs 7 ozs. she thinks that she can eat whatever her brother eats.

Not on that delicate little tummy yet LuLubug!

So tiny, so sweet, so innocent.

No more nightmares or being afraid of being all alone when she sleeps in her brother's strong arms.

You are home now LuLubug and I'm going to watch over you.

Love,
Your brother Kiwi
I really and totally had fun reborning her! I think it helped that she was preemie sized and I love baby chimps (with their family). I hand painted her using Genesis paints and custom made her doe suede body based upon very young chimp babies like this one. I used multiple baby (chimp) photos to achieve her life-look. I was going to root her but while showing her off, everyone said not to. Of course that was after I had made her a fur body. So it was back to the sewing machine. That I might add was going crazy! LOL

I just thought that LuLubug was so cute (and if she wasn't I caught her kit on sale.) Hope that you enjoyed LuLubug's story as much as I did creating it!

Late but not forgotten! PICTURES!!!

I finally got to upload some cute photos that I had promised! These little hat and diaper cover sets are just the cutest don't you agree! Pink / brown with white polka dots...cutest little ruffle on the back of the diaper cover.with an even cuter little bow set off to the side. The pink shoes I matched were right on but the brown ones were a little different shade, not quite as dark but I liked how the brought out the lace color and still looks really cute together.

Then we have our white lace diaper cover set and I coordinated the "clown colored" crib shoes for accent! The little lace hat LOL is just toooooo precious!

Love this little red and white combination ruffled diaper cover with matched tutu and coordinating lacy little shoes. I'm going to make up a red hair bow to add to this ensemble for just the right touch.

ahhh my nursery colors...this little tutu in peach has delicate little rose petals floating all around in the skirt (yes, I said in the skirt) with matching headband is so delicate looking it's just too precious for words.

and for that perfect little angel...

The little wings and halo are just too sweet I can't wait to start shooting baby portfolios with all of these quaint little outfits.  I told you I had been busy finding really cute baby goodies and I bet that you didn't believe,  I told the truth, these little things are just too adorable for words and now you can see for yourself!

So see, I didn't forget!
