Wichita Kansas Doll Show

Well for a first show, Jennifer, Scott and their lovely family, I am very happy to say it was a wonderful success and fun! I got to see old friends and met new ones. The 2018 show participation started out a little shaky but in the end vendors joined in. They were helpful and wonderful hosts. In the previous shows that I have done that kind of special touch was never offered and everyone we encountered were friendly and fun. It was very well organized and coordinated, you wouldn't have known it was a first for them. I might add that they sold out for the 2019 doll show within 24 hours! It was a mad rush after all of the lovely reviews and had I not happened to go on FB that particular evening, I would have completely missed out! Whewwww, in less than 24 hours! Now they have a waiting list just in case some vendors may not be able to attend next year! I knew that they would grow fast, but....wow! Now, I just pray that they keep that reference of personalization, because in 2020 they will definitely need a larger venue and more help. LOLROTF

Marita (Monty) Winters hosted the Wizard of Oz Doll contest using her specified kits and I must say there were some imaginative and beautifully done depictions of the Oz characters! We weren't allowed to show any pictures or naming the entry catagory until after the contest was over. It was all secret and I liked that even though it was hard not to share. That being said, yes I did enter "Zane" as Glinda the Good Baby Witch. I had a ball doing this and I am going to say that it was a shock and honor. She placed 1st as "Glinda" and Best In Show! Never in a million years would I have thought that!

Now for the recap. It was fun and inspiring! I met old and new friends and I loved the special touch!  It was hard to see how they could top this year's venue of "Follow the Yellowbrick Road", but I think that they might have! Stay tuned. Now for pictures!

Meet Jenny the wrangler and her horsey Storm

She is all ready to wrangle up some cows! What a porcelain beauty! I really love how "Storm" her hobby horse turned out. He's all hand made and has gorgeous glass eyes.

She's got it all! The Bling accents her real suede purple vest and chaps, her horse and the calf! 16" porcelain beauty is all ready to go on the road!
